FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. What vehicles do you use?
A. Primarily we are using Land Rovers work horse, the Defender 110, which is an extremely strong 4x4, designed specifically for the kind of terrain that New Zealand is so famous for. Occasionally we will also use Toyota Prado’s on our large tag along tours. All vehicles are fully expedition prepared.
Q. How many people will be on our tour
A. Max 6 or 8 people per vehicle dependant on vehicle availability. Tag along tours are a max of 3 vehicles plus scout.
Q. What things should I bring on a tour?
A. As our tours do take place in the great outdoors you should bring, stout walking shoes, waterproofs as the weather can be changeable, a hat, sun block, sunglasses, binos/camera equipment and a sense of adventure!
For longer trips we can provide a kit list of things we recommend you bring, but feel free to ask at anytime if your unsure.
Q. Are kids welcome on your tours?.
A. Kids are absolutely welcome and can join the rest of the grown up kids in the Land Rovers ;)
Q. Can we get lunch on your tours?
A. We can provide a daily catered lunch for a small additional charge. Please book in advance when booking your tour. We will advise some of the best places to eat as well and may even join you! Light refreshments are included in all trips free of charge.
Q. Whats the difference between a scenic tour, 4wd tour or eco tour?
A. Our scenic tours are primarily aimed at people looking to experience the flora and fauna of New Zealand from the comfort of our vehicles. We primarily stop on tarmac roads and will stop at many of the more tourist based attractions and views.
4wd tours are aimed more at the adventurer who wants to see the above but does not mind, or even demands(!) to enjoy this on more rugged terrain, usually these tours on based around high country station tracks and are therefore more demanding on driver, vehicle and passenger alike.
